The First Satanic Church was started on October 31, 1999 by Karla LaVey, the daughter of Church of Satan founder, Anton LaVey.
When the Church of Satan's headquarters were moved to New York, New York following the death of her father in the late 1990's, Karla disagreed with the new leadership's decision. She soon re-established a satanic church in San Francisco, California, modeled after her father's, and called it the First Satanic Church.
The church regularly has activities in the Bay Area.
