Richard Foster is a contemporary Quaker author, well-known for his book, Celebration of Discipline: The Path to Spiritual Growth.
The book is divided into three sections: The Inward Disciplines (meditation, prayer, fasting, and study), The Outward Disciplines (simplicity, solitude, submission, and service), and The Corporate Disciplines (confession, worship, guidance, and celebration).
Foster earned his Bachelor's degree from George Fox University and his doctorate from Fuller Theological Seminary and presently lives in Denver, Colorado.
