St. Basil the Great of Caesarea
Who was Basil of Caesarea?
Saint Basil, also known as "Basil the Great," was the Christian bishop of Caesarea. He was born around 330 and died in 379 AD. The Eastern Orthodox Church considers him a saint and one of the Three Holy Hierarchs, together with Gregory of Nazianzus and John Chrysostom.
